Belgians, thank you, you are the best!

Today I saw tears in the eyes of many people. The Belgians in Koksijde came to support the protest of refugees. Many Belgians say and write to me that they are ashamed of their country, ashamed of Belgium, where such things happen.

To say that we are grateful is to say nothing.

Thank you so much, only thanks to your support can we talk about our problems.

And you have nothing to be ashamed of. You can be proud of your country, you can be proud of Belgium. This is not an exaggeration; I am simply comparing it with my country.

Where I came from, they wanted to cut off my head for my publications. The best thing that awaited me was a long imprisonment, without trial or investigation. In a prison cell that is not suitable for life. My friends were in these cells.

In my country, police officers rape womens directly in police stations. Police torture is a common thing.

Journalists are blown up and beaten to death near the doors of their homes. Beating is a common thing, they do not even pay attention to them, the police do not investigate such cases.

In my country, if you criticize the government, you take a big risk.

Belgium, thanks to you, is not such a country.

The mayor of Koksayde will not send bandits to me to beat me. Your policemen will not put a rubber baton in my anus (it really happened to many people in my country, routine police torture), forcing to the confessions. I don’t think that for my publications against the mayor of Koksijde, they will kill me with a blow to the head with a hammer, in the city center, in the afternoon (this is also a real case of the murder of a journalist).

In my country, we protested a lot, but there was only one result - I tried not to die. Escape to protect myself and my family.

Therefore, I should be ashamed. After all, my country is not as good as yours.
